What is a Yoni, a blog written by Somatic Sex Educator Aleena Aspley Sexological Bodyworker and NEO Tantra Professional of Brisbane Australia.

The word “Yoni” is a Sanskrit term, commonly used in Hinduism and Tantra to refer to the female reproductive organs, particularly the vagina, vulva, clitoris and uterus. Yoni can also be translated as “sacred space” or “divine passage“.

In Hinduism, the yoni is considered a sacred symbol of the divine feminine creative power, or Shakti. It is often depicted in the form of a stylized vulva, and is associated with the goddesses Shakti, Kali, and Durga. Yoni, the cosmic source or the divine principle from which all creation arises. 

In Tantra, the Yoni is seen as a sacred space that is worthy of reverence and worship. It is viewed as a portal to higher consciousness and spiritual awakening, and is often the focus of ritual and meditation practices.

“Yoni” can also be seen as a representation of the sacred cosmic womb or the gateway to the divine. As such, the Yoni is often associated with creative power, fertility, and abundance.
